Magazine plan

This is a rough idea of how my own Country music magazine is going to look. I want a very simple colour scheme using primary colours like red and blue, and also the simple colours of black and white. I may use brown as I think it has a country feel as brown can be associated to guitars and Nashville, with its wooden houses, as Nashville is the home of Country music. I put my cover stories of the left hand side as this is a convention of most magazines called a left third. This technique stands out and automatically draws the reader’s attention as they expect to see the left third on most magazine layouts that they see.
When I do my music magazine, I will put the conventional things of a barcode, a price, a date, and a selling line, as these are all missing from my mock up. Barcodes are conventional on every magazine, and without one it looks unrealistic. A price is needed so people can interpret the kind of target audience I will have, a higher price means a higher class of person that I am targeting.  A date and issue number is also part of the magazine convention, this shows how long the magazine has been running, and when it was released. The selling line, or slogan, is important as the reader will associate this line with the magazine always.
On my mock-up of the magazine I used a medium close up of a country singer, this is the type of shot I would like to use on my final front page. I plan on putting the main cover on the right hand side, whilst including the name of the artist, I will also put a quote by them, what thewy have supposedly said in their interview.
